Boaters To Have Say On Boat Ramp Management

06/12/2019

The Andrews Labor Government is encouraging boaters and facility managers to visit Better Boating Victoria's new website to have their say on how recreational boating infrastructure is managed in our bays.

Minister for Fishing and Boating Jaala Pulford said the new website gives the boating community access to the Port Phillip and Western Port Boating Infrastructure Review Discussion Paper.

The discussion paper is part of the Labor Government's review into improving how boating infrastructure is managed across the bays and will be open for public consultation until 10 January 2020.

The Government's $47.2 million investment in recreational boating improvements also includes removing parking and launching fees at public boat ramps and upgrading six boats ramps at priority locations across Victoria.

The Discussion Paper has been prepared by Deloitte, who were appointed to undertake the review in September this year.

The feedback received from the discussion paper consultation will inform improvements to boating infrastructure management options.

A summary report outlining the findings from the discussion paper consultation and the next steps in the review will be released early next year.
